We spent a few days in Connecticut and visited Lake Compounce Theme Park with the kids and my parents.
The park is quite large, so we spent the first day riding the rides and went back on the 2nd day to play at the water park, it was a blast!

We were at the park on Friday and Saturday and there was such a difference in the amount of people there from a weekday to a weekend.....we will not return for a weekend visit in the future.
Fortunately, we rode the rides on Friday and didn't have to wait in any lines......then we got to the park early on Saturday, which gave us time to enjoy the water park until it got very congested around 2pm.
Cool things about Lake Compounce:
- rides and attractions for all ages
- Unlimitted, free drinks at stations located all over the park
- Really good pizza at Harborside Pizza (in the water park)
- Clean park
- Cute shows
- Lifeguarded beach
- Lots of lounge chairs at water park and beach (not that I could sit and relax)
- Huge water slide that goes into Lake Compounce
- Wooden roller coaster built onto the side of a mountain (didn't get to ride it this time, but I will next time!)
It took us about 2 hours to drive there and we stayed for a couple of nights, which worked out good so we could go back for a 2nd visit.
Plan a trip (on a weekday), you will love it!

I figured i would let you know that this past Saturday, when you visited the park, was very busy due to a large catered group of about 10,000 people. The park actually sent out an email to its subscribers to alert them of the expected busy day. As an employee of the park, i hope you enjoyed your days and return soon!
Love the picture of Chris playing hopscotch with the girls! Sounds like you had a blast! Guess you missed the email from the park! :)
